1. Commission Payment
Once we have settled on your “vision” for the piece, we will invoice you a 50% deposit to begin the work. Once work is completed, you will be sent digital images of the item to confirm that it meets the standard of the agreed-upon commission request. After you have approved the piece, we will send a final invoice with the remaining 50% cost of the item, plus shipping. Items will not be shipped until the final invoice is paid.
2. Commission Shipping
Shipping costs depend on the size and weight of the piece. Shipping pottery usually starts at $5 for a small piece, but can be as much as $40 for very large items.
3. Commission Costs
Commissions start at $20 for small items, and will increase depending on size, time required, skill required, and material costs. Please understand that while we do our best to accommodate your budget, pricing is not negotiable.
4. Commission Fees
All commissions require a 50% downpayment to initiate work. If we have started working on your piece, we cannot refund the primary 50% deposit, as this helps cover the cost of time and materials. If the commission is cancelled before the work has started, 10% of the downpayment fee will kept to cover the time spent preparing for the commission. Once you receive the item, the total commission fee is also not refundable. In the event that an item breaks during shipping, we have policies to ensure that your work can either be refunded or recreated at no cost to you. See the "Two Ties Pottery Return, Refund & Exchange Policy V1.1" for further details.
5. Commission Timelines
The time a commission will take depends on both the size and detail of your piece, as well as our personal schedule and other commissions we have at that time. Please understand that in addition to commissions, we frequently attend markets in person to keep the business running. Commissions cannot be promised in less than 4 weeks, though we try and complete them as fast as possible. Commissions are first-come, first-serve, with a queue ordered by the date of commission. If all commission spots fill, you will be placed on a waitlist for the next round of commissions. We will contact those on the waitlist first before announcing commission openings on social media or the twotiespottery.com website.

1. Damages / Issues:
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Receipt or proof or purchase is required in order to place a return transaction.
Items must be returned within 60 days, packed with care so as to arrive undamaged.
Refunds are sent after product is received and examined.
You will be responsible for shipping costs when returning items to us for refund unless it was a shipping error made on our part.
After 60 days, items may not be returned. No refunds can be issued after this period.
To start a return transaction, you can contact us via form submission through "twotiespottery.com/contact" or at "twotiespottery@gmail.com". Return submissions will be addressed as quickly as possible.
2. Exceptions / Non-returnable Items:
Commissions and custom-made items cannot be returned unless there is a defect or the item does not meet the standards of the written commission request. If there is no commission request in writing, then returns may not be guaranteed.
All commissions require a 50% down-payment that is non-refundable.
Sale or discounted items may only be exchanged for the amount they were sold for (receipt or proof of purchase required).
Items marked "Final Sale" cannot be returned.
3. Exchanges:
Optionally, exchanges are available in place of a refund.
Chosen exchange items must be of equal or lesser value. If the chosen items are of lesser value than the return, the differing balance will be issued as store credit in the form of a Square eGift Card.
If desired items exceed the cost of the return, we can also issue a Square eGift Card to use as store credit towards the item of higher value.
4. Return Process:
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and will let you know if the refund was approved or not.
If approved, you’ll be refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days of receipt of the returned item. Please note that it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at "twotiespottery@gmail.com".
